From Floor to Finish: A Kitchen Transformed with Heart

At Cheshire Kitchen Fitters, every kitchen tells a story—but some projects are more than just a renovation. When Rebecca Wilkinson approached us, she carried the weight of a past kitchen installation gone wrong. Her previous experience with a national kitchen retailer had been deeply disappointing, marred by poor design, substandard fitting, and even distressing interactions with subcontractors. Understandably, trust had to be rebuilt from the ground up. Backed by our reputation as a Which Trusted Trader and recommended by her sister, Rebecca chose us to help her turn a new page in her new home.

About The Project

T

the property presented a fresh start for our client. The existing kitchen layout was inefficient, and the breakfast bar was cramped and poorly placed, creating a space that felt cluttered and uninviting. The slate tiled floor had been badly installed, making the room feel cold and disconnected from the rest of the home.

Rebecca’s vision was clear—she wanted a kitchen that felt elegant yet practical, one that would reflect her style while vastly improving usability. She selected our Caserta range, finished in a soft Chalkstone hue, paired with luxurious materials: a quartz worktop, a ceramic butler sink with a bronze tap, and durable LVT flooring. Integrated modern appliances and thoughtful design touches would complete the transformation.

The Process & The Kitchen Design & Build In Progress

We started by decommissioning the old kitchen and removing the existing slate flooring. From there, our comprehensive service came into its own. Every stage of the project was meticulously planned and carried out by trusted professionals.

First fix electrics were completed by our partner AJL Electrical Ltd, who returned for a second visit to finalise the upgraded lighting scheme and reposition socket outlets for optimal appliance integration. Lets Get Plastered handled the plastering work, ensuring a smooth finish to the walls and ceiling that would provide the perfect backdrop for the new kitchen.

We coordinated all plumbing works, including fresh water supplies to the sink and a complete overhaul of the waste system. The kitchen installation itself included not just standard cabinetry, but also a bespoke open-shelf unit built in situ at the end of the peninsular—an elegant solution crafted to complement both function and aesthetics.

Quartz worktops were digitally templated for absolute precision, and included a window sill and a feature splashback behind the hob. The floor was screeded and laid with new LVT flooring, and we added new skirting boards for a polished finish. Second fix electrics brought in brushed bronze fittings throughout, tying together the hardware, sink, tap and sockets in a coordinated and stylish way.

Thanks to thorough preparation and expert execution, the project ran smoothly and without disruption. Any bespoke details—such as the custom shelving—were adapted on the fly with confidence and care.

The Results

The finished kitchen is not only beautiful but highly functional. Rebecca was especially pleased with the Chalkstone colour, the impeccable installation, and the calm, professional atmosphere throughout the process. For her, it wasn’t just about the end result, but how she felt along the way—relieved, reassured, and ultimately, delighted.

For us, this case study encapsulates more than just another successful project—it represents our core values: exceptional workmanship, clear communication, and total customer confidence. At Cheshire Kitchen Fitters, we don’t just fit kitchens—we restore faith in what a home improvement journey should truly feel like.
