This kitchen renovation in Great Bridgeford was one of our most comprehensive projects to date, transforming a 200-year-old mill property into a bright, modern, highly functional family kitchen.
This was a returning customer of ours, so trust was already established,
this time, the project was larger and more ambitious. The essential requirements at survey stage were:
More storage
Improved functionality
Twin ovens (replacing a range cooker)
Underfloor heating (the kitchen previously had no heating)
French doors replacing the window for direct patio access
The existing kitchen felt dated, inefficient, and disconnected from the garden. The patio sat roughly a foot higher than the kitchen floor, and access required walking around the entire house.
This project was far more than a simple kitchen refit — it involved significant structural transformation within a 200-year-old mill property. The client wanted to replace an existing window with French doors to create direct access to the patio, but this area also housed the kitchen sink and an external drain. To achieve the new layout, we relocated the sink and hob, moved the external drainage, installed the French doors, constructed internal steps to accommodate the height difference between the patio and kitchen floor, and re-landscaped the exterior. The result is seamless access from kitchen to garden — now one of the client’s favourite features.
Given the age of the property, the electrical system required a full upgrade, including a complete rewire, new consumer unit, upgraded sockets, spotlights, and feature lighting. During the works, we discovered the main electric inlet fuse was dangerously mounted and detached, requiring an emergency visit from the electricity provider before work could safely continue. In addition, the original kitchen had no heating, so we installed underfloor heating, levelled the floors, and retiled both the kitchen and dining area to dramatically improve comfort and usability.
Our quote covered the entire project from start to finish — including removal of the old kitchen and flooring, French door installation, drainage relocation, landscaping adjustments, internal step construction, full rewiring, plumbing alterations, insulated plasterboarding, complete plastering and decoration, full kitchen installation, new skirting boards, and six new oak internal doors. This was a truly comprehensive, end-to-end kitchen renovation in Great Bridgeford.

The finished kitchen completely transformed both the look and functionality of the space.
